The automatic center punch marks holes in steel to permanently stamp your seed-QR. By compressing the spring, you effortlessly create a permanent impression in steel. No hammer, one hand, and the point lands where you put it.
Marking a plate is a two-step process: first punch the marks with the center punch, then ink them with a fine-point permanent marker so the code scans. Punch on a solid surface that does not absorb the shock.
This is the same punch included with the Titanium QR backup plate. It is listed separately for anyone who already owns a plate, or who punches their own steel.
