Seed12 is an easily customizable and upgradable kit for making your own security backups: whether it’s for passwords, seed phrases, or private keys. It’s made from space-grade steel and is resistant to forms of damage like fire, water, or corrosion. Compact, easy to use, and durable, it is a durable way to protect critical information offline.
To make a backup (official backup):
- Write down your 12-word recovery phrase.
- Insert a cotter pin into one of the core slots. Lock it into place.
- For each word, insert the first 4 letters using the metal password tiles (BIP39 standard). You should use divider tiles between each word.
- Double-check to ensure all words are in correct order and readable. If you make any mistakes you can simply remove the letters and add them again.
- Finally, place another cotter pin to lock it off. Ensure both pins are secure.
- Slide the loaded core into the capsule and seal the cap. You are free to destroy any paper copies of your seed phrase after this.
