Median feerate

the middle price of blockspace in a block

The price of the middle byte of blockspace in the block. Roughly, what you had to pay to be sure of getting in.

DefinitionPER WEIGHT UNIT: the feerate at which the block's cumulative vbyte count crosses 50%, not the median transaction's feerate. This is what Core's getblockstats, mempool.space and the block explorers all mean, and our replica of Core's algorithm matches getblockstats exactly.

LimitIt is identical to the mid band of the marginal clearing price. Do not count them twice.
